How to Write Meta Tags

When you are writing meta tags you need to be aware of a couple of things. The easiest way for me to show this to you is by giving you a little tutorial about how to write meta tags.

Example Of How To Write Meta Tags

First: You have your keywords selected. I am going to use the keyword “meta tag creation” and the secondary keywords, “meta keywords”, “meta title”, “description meta tags”, and “meta tag”.

Second: You need to pick a title with the main keyword in it: <title>Meta Tag Creation</title>. Come up with a catchy title, this is what people will see as the title of your site when it is displayed in a search engine. Obviously, I just wrote meta tag creation all by itself because it is just an example. You want to keep your title under 65 characters to keep it search engine friendly. Also, Try and start your title with the main keyword.

Third: You will need to write your description meta tag. You should use your main keyword and try also try and use one or more of your secondary keywords in the description tag.
<meta name=”Description” content=”Professional Meta Tag Creation by Joe Doe. Learn how to use meta keywords, create a meta title tag, and write professional description meta tags.” />

Fourth: You will need to enter your keywords. Normally it is good practice to use about six to nine keywords. It is not recommended to use over nine.
<meta name=”Keywords” content=”meta tag creation,meta keywords,meta title,description meta tags,meta tag” />

So in the end your tag should look something like this:
<title>Meta Tag Creation</title>
<meta name=”Description” content=”Proffesional Meta Tag Creation by Joe Doe. Learn how to use meta keywords, create a meta title tag and write professional description meta tags.” />
<meta name=”Keywords” content=”meta tag creation,meta keywords,meta title,description meta tags,meta tag” />
